Abstract
La Iglesia es, por variados motivos, una institución muy singular, en la que abundan los rasgos originales sin parigual en otras sociedades o coporaciones de características más o menos análogas. Uno de estos rasgos es la coexistencia al interior de la comunidad eclesial de dos instituciones docentes. En efecto, junto a lo que comúnmente se conoce por "magisterio eclesiástico", esto es, el magisterio jerárquico de los obispos, se da también en la Iglesia otro de índole académico-técnica encarnado en los teólogos.
