El 29 de Marzo de 1590 entraban en Santafé los Padres Francisco de Victoria y Antonio Linero, con el Coadjutor Juan Martínez, los primeros Jesuítas que penetraban en el interior del Nuevo Reino. Venían acompañando a don Antonio González, el nuevo presidente.
