Abstract
The intention is to present Christianity as a «fundamental option» of human existence that has as one of its moral basic consequences, in accordance with the teaching of the New Testament, the practice of non-violence without attenuation. In this sense, the author advocates the need for restoring the forgotten or lost tradition of primitive christianity, that took very serioulsy this characteristic of Christian behaviour. This reflection brings into light some guides for searching alternative solutions to the violent situation that confronts Colombian society.
