Abstract

The theme of table communion is recurrent in the traditions of the two covenants. The study works out this thematic based on the semantic fields that define it: food, meal, table, feast, in order to reach the different meanings and senses in the biblical world: litteral, symbolic, social, religious. When trying to understand the thematic of table communion in the New Testament we perceive relations of continuity, discontinuity and novelty, and so it becomes possible to bring into focus the experience of table communion of Jesus of Nazareth.
