Abstract
The Kenosis category is part of the Christian message and it entails the emptying of the self. From a gender perspective, this article wonders about the pertinence of such a category in order to achieve the empowering of women and the recovery of their self-esteem. Confronting biblical sources and the current systematic developments, it is shown that the Kenosis category possesses elements liberating enough to contribute with this new moment experienced by women, provided that it is exercised the discernment about its authentic sense and its liberation from the patriarchal conditioning imposed to it with the ages.
