Abstract

For its effects on the public order, the psychosis not only convokes hospital
instances, but also juridical instances. When madness arises and passes to
actual acts, law takes a role by displaying a series of dispositives to deal
with something that apparently corresponds to another discipline. The
intention of the text besides un-mythicizing the so-called madness, and analyzing the logics of the passing to act, is to place the psychosis as an issue that should also be the object of professionals in law, who in their daily work deal with the various manifestations of the human experience -clinical structures–, and whose decisions will necessarily have effects in the life of an individual.
