Abstract

This essay aims to explore similarities and differences between two authors whose thought deeply marked the Twentieth Century: Freud and Simmel, taking as a starting point their interpretation about modern metropolis and its dynamic space which destabilizes traditional categories to think of objective reality and subjectivity as well. Assuming dreams and money as devices, each one seeks meaning into them in such an original way they strongly set present thought.
