Abstract
Este breve artículo es una especie de prolegómeno para la búsqueda de una ética del desarrollo latinoamericano. En él se pretende acatar y caracterizar la realidad profunda y concreta de las políticas que hoy se proponen para el desarrollo del "tercer mundo". Esta aclaración de las implicaciones reales de las políticas de desarrollo debe ser el punto de partida para una ética que pueda iluminar nuestra senda hacia la constitución de una sociedad realmente libre y justa dentro del inexorable proceso de mundialización en el que nos hallamos inmersos. La ética tiene que constituirse como un camino desde la realidad –y con la fuerza misma de la realidad– hacia la utopía del hombre libre. Se trata de una ética que está por hacer y que, ciertamente, no puede coincidir con las prácticas tradicionales de imposición y dominación en las que, más allá de la retórica del democratismo neoliberal, están vigentes en los procesos económicos internos de los diferentes países y en los enfoques del orden mundial que hoy se propone. Buceando en nuestra propia historia y afrontando nuestra realidad presente podremos construir nuestro camino.
