Abstract
En el presente texto se pretende establecer la relación existente entre la conocida obra de Wittgenstein y la filosofía desarrollada por los miembros del llamado "Círculo de Viena". Si bien no se niega que existen puntos de coincidencia importantes entre una y otra, se intenta mostrar que "muchos de los aforismos del Tractatus resultan incompatibles con las concepciones –marcadamente empiristas– del Círculo" .
Las principales diferencias entre los dos puntos de vista señalados son puestos por el autor en tres puntos: la teoría pictórica del lenguaje, esencial para Wittgenstein pero inaceptable para el "Círculo" ; la preocupación esencialmente lógica del filósofo vienés, en contraposición al interés epistemológico del "Círculo de Viena"; y el reconocimiento, por parte de Wittgenstein, de una dimensión de profundidad en las proposiciones filosóficas. Cada uno de estos puntos es desarrollado detenidamente a lo largo del artículo.
