Abstract
Para la autora, es en latinoamérica donde está la Filosofía del futuro dado que aqui se han conjugado cuatro herencias, que abarcan la mayor parte de la experiencia humana: las herencias indígena, europea, africana y la cristianocatólica. La tradición metafísica occidental ha sido dominada por la idea del conflicto y de la oposición: el mundo siempre ha sido seccionado en dos segmentos opuestos, uno identificado como bueno y otro como malo. Ha sido una metafísica de la jerarquía y el conflicto. Aún la ciencia occidental ha sido una expresión de la voluntad humana por dominar en su relación con la naturaleza. Se requiere una nueva metafísica de la diversidad que elabore no solamente el valor y la dignidad de todos y cada uno de los seres humanos sino también el de todas y cada una de las especies de la tierra.
