Abstract
La evolución del espacio del juego (agón) en Grecia antigua permite detectar un proceso de culturación de la violencia. Desde la instauración de los juegos al olímpicos hasta la consolidación de la democracia de Clístenes se desarrolla una reglamentación de las competiciones que permite alejar la muerte del espacio de las tensiones sociales. De la lucha física, donde se exalta la fuerza corporal del guerrero, a la pugna verbal en el ágora, donde prima el vigor de los argumentos, el pueblo griego ha hecho el aprendizaje de un saber de la violencia. En este recorrido se ha dado cabida a la creación de la filosofía, de la poesia, del derecho, de la política, de la tragedia ... Un ámbito de realización humana que el griego comprendió como el juego de la vida.
