Abstract
This article develops the problem of the ethical dimension of personal identity in Paul Ricœur, in three moments: Firstly, it defines the notion of subject's personal identity from his or herself-comprehension. Secondly, it points to the narrative being and expression of personal identity. Finally, it reveals how this éthos with its narrative comprehension inspires cultural world, history, literature and political life.
