Abstract
In this article we aim to recognize and discuss the fundamentals and values at stake in Adorno’s critique regarding the relationships society-nature and to shed light on their convergences with the environmental critique. To do so, we explore the notions of natural history and reconciliation with nature in two works by Theodor Adorno, “The idea of Natural History” and “Aesthetic Theory”. We support the thesis that the demand resulting from the Frankfurt School assumptions about the need to blend together the rational, sensitive, aesthetic and spiritual knowledge is implicitly assumed in the development of environmentalism as a historic-vital movement.
