Resumen

En el artículo se presenta una revisión de los esfuerzos y de los impedimentos que implica la delimitación y la medición económica de un complejo sector como es el cultural. Para ello se centra en tres aspectos metodológicos: qué bienes y servicios se deben incluir, qué metodologías emplear para su valoración y cuáles avances usar, a fin de armonizar las estadísticas con las cuales comparar entre países. Se encuentra que los modelos de delimitación del sector cultural y el refinamiento de las metodologías que valoran bienes culturales permiten una mejor comprensión del funcionamiento del sector.
