Abstract
Sab (1841), de Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, compone un fuera de lugar conflictivo y ambiguo que, por un lado, proyecta un discurso hegemónico de refuerzo de la diferencia y, por otro, diseña un posible espacio alternativo que puede rastrearse en las miradas encontradas sobre sus personajes, en la particular apropiación de modelos literarios metropolitanos y coloniales, y códigos de género de época o en el enfrentado juego de alianzas que sostiene. Un espacio que también mide los desajustes entre el personaje de la novela y su autora, y que, sin caer en el calco entre obra y vida, este artículo se propone rastrear.
