Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como propósito mostrar la reivindicación de lo humano en el pensamiento de Mariano Picón Salas (1901-1965), específicamente a través de la propuesta contenida en los textos: “Regreso de tres mundos” (1959), “Literatura y sociedad”, “Cultura y sosiego” y “Vicisitudes en el arte de historiar”. En ellos, la búsqueda de los ideales en Picón Salas funciona como una línea trasversal que permite leer dos ideas centrales del autor en las que se aproxima 1) a una estética de la obra de arte, planteada con base en la forma de la condición humana que solo la literatura puede ofrecernos, y 2) a la construcción de una ética de lectura que es a la vez una forma de interpretación que permite vislumbrar la dimensión humana de las grandes búsquedas del hombre.
