Abstract
Este artículo explora la novela de Tununa Mercado Yo nunca te prometí la eternidad, desde la pregunta constante por la identidad en relación con la circunstancia del exilio de sus personajes. Esa pregunta por la identidad, que en la literatura latinoamericana ha hallado respuestas en el concepto de nación, sigue estas pistas, pero da un giro hacia una manera contemporánea de entender dicha cuestión.
