Abstract
Este ensayo estudia la novela Islanada de Elmo Valencia en el contexto de la irrupción nadaísta en la literatura colombiana, y sitúa esa novela en el panorama de los cambios estéticos y axiológicos que emparentaban al grupo nadaísta con el movimiento beat de los Estados Unidos. El ensayo propone que Islanada constituye un punto de entronque importante tanto dentro del sistema literario colombiano como dentro del Zeitgeist interamericano de los años sesenta.
