Abstract
José Marti predicó una Cuba sin racismo ni hipocresías basadas en lo superficial tanto en sus obras literarias como en su prosa. Nicolás Guillén logró la igualdad através de su poesía y su activismo politico al mostrar que todos los cubano compartían el mismo destino. Después de la revolución. Guillén siguió su defensa contra la hipocresia al atacar los excesos del llamado "quinqunio gris" cuando el estado quiso imponer normas y prácticas soviéticas a la sociedad cubana. "Digo que no soy un hombre puro" es una bofetada al puritanismo de la época de Brezhnev.
