Abstract
Este artículo se acerca a la obra de Ricardo Cano Gaviria, Una lección de abismo, desde una mirada que evidencia la propuesta para hacer que la literatura nacional sea tan cosmopolita como cualquier otra en sus temas, lenguajes y técnicas. Logrando dicho cosmopolitanismo desde la actualización de la estética gótica en la novela, recurriendo a la estructura epistolar, los espacios y objetos que sirven para la creación de la escenografía gótica y figuras tales como el vampiro, el doble y la mujer lobo. Del mismo modo, se actualizan algunos de los intrtextos en ella presentes y su papel de clave interpretativa que, al lado de los elementos góticos, contribuyen a la creación de un efecto que el lector (cercano al lector artista postulado por el Modernismo) está llamado a percibir.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
