Abstract
Lewis Carroll es el seudónimo del autor de Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland! (Las aventuras de Alicia en el País de !as Maravillas), cyo nombre real era Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. El seudommo fue construido con los nombresde pila: Lutwidge-Lewis y Charles-Carroll (los tradujo primero al latín: Carolus yLudovico; invirtió el orden y volvió a traducirlos al inglés: Lewis Carroll). En verdad,Lewis Carroll era su alter ego: un domesticador de serpientes y sapos, prestidigitador(por arte de birlibirloque), precoz editor e ilustrador de revistas manuscritas para niños,zurdo (lo mismo que sus dos hermanas y sus ocho hermanos), insomne, sordo deun oído, inventor de juegos, de aparatos inútiles, de rompecabezas, apasionado coleccionistade bicicletas y de triciclos, creador de juegos de palabras, incluso de idiomaspropios. Su pasión era invertir la realidad: enviar cartas que empezaran por su firmay acabaran con el nombre del destinatario, redactar escritos que debían ser leídos conla ayuda de espejos y que tenían sentido al revés y al derecho; "es muy pobre una memoriaque sólo funcione hacia atrás", solía decir.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
