Abstract
Quisiera comenzar mi presentación sobre salsa en este Encuentro con una definición salsera del Caribe; es decir, con una caracterización del Caribe desde el propio movimiento musical que intentaré analizar. Está tomada de un disco del cantautor panameño niuyoriqueñizado Rubén Blades que lleva el título muy sugestivo e importante para lo que explicaremos después de Caminando. Fíjense en el tiempo del verbo, que da la sensación de proceso, de acción ya comenzada, pero inconclusa. Gilberto Santa Rosa, el cantante salsero más popular en los últimos años,ha convertido este concepto --en el imperativo-- en su grito característico para levantar el ánimo en sus presentaciones: "¡Camínalo!". Cuando el cantante improvisa un buen soneo o algún instrumentista una virtuosa descarga, se le grita: "¡Camínalo!".Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
