Abstract
Antes de aparecer en occidente la palabra selva como sustantivo (del latín silva: bosque grande, la que no ha sido explorada por ningún hombre) o como adjetivo (selvático: tosco, rudo, salvaje) para designar un lugar específico con tal sentido predominante en esta cultural e impuesto a otras, existe desde tiempos inmemoriales a fuerza de milagro un sitio en el cual mora abundante vegetación de característico color verde, animales de variadas especies, y por supuesto, lo que hoy se distingue como indígena, componente de todo un ecosistema con una cosmovisión muy particular del mismo, quien se reconoce en su entorno al vivenciarlo, al hacerlo objeto de veneración, sabiduría, conocimiento, arte, cobijo, sustento y parentesco.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
