Abstract
América Latina aún busca su utopía. Este parece ser el sentido del presente artículo, pero quizás la aproximación que hace al deseo de alcanzar la utopía se revierte en la función que cumplen las obras de los escritores latinoamericanos, sostenidas en las imágenes, los signos y los símbolos. Es decir, en la semiótica que permite una realización, como tal, de la utopía latinoamericana. Obras acaecidas de la realidad que se vuelve ficción gracias a la palabra convertida en evocación, palabra mágica que recupera para el hombre latinoamericano su lugardentro de la utopía de su continente con su mixtura de culturas
