Abstract
Este artículo examina las resonancias del sentido cósmico del tiempo del continentes americano en la poesía de Rubén Darío que celebra la medianoche. En los trópicos tanto de la Amazonia como de Mesoamérica (donde nació), la llegada al momento divisorio era marcada puntualmente por instrumentos musicales (flautas, trompetas), como atestiguan textos de la región de proveniencia firmemente no europea. Que la coincidencia no era casual nos aseguran estas mismas fuentes, desde la epopeya de juruparu hasta los códices Cholula y Tenochtitlan, al indicar además una preocupación común por la medianoche no solo solar sino estelar.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
