Abstract
El propósito de este artículo es dar una mirada crítica a la incursión de los sujetos rurales en escenarios ocupacionales no-agrícolas y urbanos, a la luz de la emergencia de nuevas ruralidades, entendidas como aquellas derivadas del ajuste o búsqueda de vías alternativas a las actuales circunstancias genéricas sociales. Considerando la creciente dedicación de individuos y familias rurales a un conjunto de actividades económicas y productivas diferentes a las tradicionales, el documento inicia aludiendo a la noción de pluriactividad rural, como punto de partida para el posterior reconocimiento de los diversos factores que guían y posibilitan el tránsito ocupacional de lo agrícola a lo no-agrícola; distinguiendo entre aquellos de índole estructural (mercantilización, urbanización, modernización tecnológica, tercearización de la economía) y los asociados a la capacidad particular de adaptación individual y familiar. El artículo finaliza con algunas consideraciones críticas en torno al impulso de la ocupación rural no-agrícola y urbana como estrategia de desarrollo rural.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
