Abstract
Sobre indicadores obtenidos del empadronamiento del Resguardo Indígena de Cota (Cundinamarca), el autorejemplificael proceso que en Colombia dio lugar
a la formación del campesinado por la disolución de resguardos indígenas o un proceso de descampesinización de algunas comunidades indígenas por el afán de conservar su tierra ancestral. La autoridad indígena, el cabildo Gobernador, adelantó un censo en el resguardo de Cota con el fin de establecer el número posible de comuneros que entrarían a pertenecer al resguardo. Este proceso sirvió para diagnosticar la situación de la comunidad, la cual mantiene características culturales propias de una minoría étnica. Los resultados pusieron en evidencia que una población indígena o campesina, permanece en condicionesde vida bastante precarias.
