Abstract

A partir de datos estadísticos los autores analizan el como y el porqué de la posición semiperiférica de la región Minho (distritos Braga y Viana do Castelo) no solo en relación con los países centrales sino con centros urbanos como Lisboa y Oporto. Subsequentemente se exponen los modelos de desarrollo: la teoría neoliberal del crecimiento y la modernización, la perspectiva neoinstitucional, las versiones neomarxistas de la dependencia y de centro-periferia, y la teoría territorialista.
