Abstract
No obstante la institución de la avería gruesa ha estado presente en el ámbito de lanavegación desde hace miles de años y su aparición en el seguro de transportes (enla actualidad) es frecuente, dicha figura representativa del derecho marítimo y de losseguros es muy poco conocida por el común de los abogados, esto llevó a pensar enla idea de realizar una investigación por medio de la cual de manera simple y clara sediera a conocer esta institución.En el documento se podrá encontrar tanto el desarrollo histórico de la avería gruesacomo su aplicación práctica en los seguros, donde se hará mención a la normatividada aplicar no solo en el campo internacional sino también en el ordenamiento jurídiconacional, en donde desafortunadamente no se le ha dado a la materia la importanciaque requiere, dejando sin regular aspectos fundamentales para la institución.Luego de estudiar los temas mencionados, se llegará a la conclusión de que por másque la institución sea de origen milenario, mientras existan los peligros del mar la averíagruesa siempre permanecerá vigente.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
