Abstract

In both Argentina and Colombia, the national state came to be consolidated, between 1880-1910. However, the way in which these states came together and the characteristics of each country can be attributed to endogenous forces. These forces will be studied to sequel, though the central point that formed the discurse in each country. The work also examines the role played by the idea of nation in the ideological discurse that supported the construction of each state.
