Abstract
This article explores the dimensions of the Internetaccess gap through a review on the evolutionof this technology and its socio-political impactwithin the framework of the information andknowledge society, this in order to contrast theconditions of exclusion arising in the countryand the answers offered by the current sectorialpolicy searching alternative scenarios of publicintervention oriented to the effective achievementof digital inclusion.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License. Thus, this work may be reproduced, distributed, and publicly shared in digital format, as long as the names of the authors and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana are acknowledged.
