Abstract
Although still marginally, architecture built with earth is gettingmore and more attention. The gold mine of building with earth isthe development of sumptuous projects. Although this is importantas well, the risk exists that earth architecture might be seen as anupper class trend. Since ten years, the Tierra Viva foundation isrealizing various projects that seek to position earth as a materialthat is capable of improving quality of life at all levels and at a lowcost. Pilot low-cost housing projects developed in cooperation withgovernments and public institutions are beginning to prove that alegal framework considering building with earth is a social needin Colombia.Apuntes is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
