Abstract

The article tackles the circumstances in which different American countries celebrated their independence centenary. It analyzes the factors of: national affirmation (present in the international modernization), reencounter with the ancient imperial metropolis, and singularity ratification. In some cases with allegoric and ephemeral manifestations and in other cases with public and commemoratives buildings
