Resumen
El objetivo es analizar la evolución de la investigación sobre las Intervenciones Asistidas con Animales (IAA) en el abordaje de diferentes problemáticas psicosociales. Se empleó un método cienciométrico de construcción de redes de citaciones a partir de la teoría de grafos. La búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó en Scopus y Web of Science. Para el análisis se utilizaron los softwares Sci2 Tool y Gephi. Los resultados se segmentaron en estudios clásicos, estructurales y recientes. Se encontró que las IAA tienen respaldo empírico para el abordaje de problemáticas en la infancia y la adolescencia y en el ámbito hospitalario y escolar. Se destacan las aplicaciones terapéuticas de la IAA en la atención de adultos mayores con demencia, pacientes con Trastorno por Estrés Postraumático (TEP) y Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA).
