Abstract

This research built Beveridge Curve for the city of Cartagena during the period 2001-2010. This relationship between unemployment and job vacancies, to determine whether fluctuations in unemployment are caused by the economic cycle or differences or imbalances in the labor market. Methodologically, an estimation of the relationship between unemployment and job vacancies in Cartagena, graphically and by regression of log-log. The results indicate that for the city of Cartagena in the period 2001-2010 the relationship between unemployment and job vacancies is negative, so that fluctuations in unemployment are associated with the economic cycle.
