Resumen

Esta discusión es parte del trabajo del Grupo de Investigación en Educación en Periodismo y Trauma (JETREG), con foco en la exposición de periodistas brasileños y colombianos a riesgos y traumas en el ejercicio de su profesión. El artículo analiza las respuestas de 50 profesores brasileños y colombianos que participaron de la encuesta web sobre la cobertura traumática y la inclusión de este tema en la enseñanza del periodismo. El debate teórico comprende estudios de periodismo, cobertura traumática y traumas. El hecho de que en Colombia y Brasil la mayoría de las escuelas de periodismo sean privadas resulta en evitar hablar de riesgos de situaciones traumáticas que implica la profesión, ya que esto puede afectar la demanda de jóvenes que quieren graduarse para este trabajo y tener un gran impacto en la oferta y distribuyendo clases dispersas en el currículo.
