Abstract
After his ambitious trilogy The Information Age: Economy, Society and Culture (1999) -with which, by formulating a systematic theory about the fundamental effects of information technology in the contemporary world, he led his readers ad portas of the new millennium-, the call by some "Marshall McLuhan of our time", Manuel Castells, now surprises with a work that promises to help decipher, or to problematize even more, what arises as the crossroads of the twenty-first century: the strategic convergence between technology, communication and power.
