Abstract
En este ensayo, la autora revisa y analiza el debate producido alrededor de las Tecnologías de información y la Comunicación en los últimos veinte años, enfatizando en América Latina. Las relaciones entre tecnología, innovación, cultura y sociedad son exploradas. Se definen conceptos como interactividad, convergencia, innovación, tecnologías de la información y la comunicación. La autora describe a los nuevos actores de la comunicación en América Latina que han aprovechado el videojuego y el Internet. Según la autora, antes de la llegada de las nuevas tecnologías, América Latina era un mito más que una realidad. La autora resalta la ausencia de investigación sobre estas tecnologías en América Latina y anota algunas limitaciones de la investigación que se produjo en el continente.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
