Abstract

Este artículo es un acercamiento crítico a las películas Pulp Fiction de Quentin Tarantino y Asesinos por naturaleza de Oliver Stone. El autor busca esbozar una estética de la violencia usando como materiales las opiniones y juicios estéticos de estudiantes universitarios de cine y televisión. Se hace referencias a los trabajos de Umberto Eco, Omar Calabrese, Regis Debray y Gianni Vatimo. Concluye el autor que "en la representación escénica la violencia ha estado presente desde siempre, desde la tragedia griega que no ha escapado a la feria de las crueldades. Sólo que antes la catarsis servía para explicar la presencia de la violencia, hoy parece que necesitamos nuevas explicaciones".
