Abstract
In line with a global tendency, mass media in Colombia (and the information sources they resort to) favor figures and numbers as verifiable referents over other journalistic quality standards also related to precision and accuracy. The abuse of the rhetoric of figures and numbers, vis-àvis other narrative strategies, has resulted in mere ideologization as far as political propaganda is concerned.
