Significado de Bernard Lonergan para un teólogo

Resumen
La definición de teología de Method in Theology de Bernard Lonergan presenta aparentemente ciertos problemas. Por un lado, no contiene ciertos términos de la definición tradicional como “Dios” o “Cristo Jesús”. Por otro lado, incluye el término “mediación”, pero su significado no recibe un tratamiento extenso. En cuanto a lo primero, el artículo explica que se trata de una “definición implícita”. En cuanto a lo segundo, propone leer a Method como una serie sucesiva de mediaciones. El artículo examina los comentarios y objeciones de Karl Rahner al método de las especializaciones funcionales y las observaciones correspondientes de Lonergan. De hecho, los comentarios de Rahner no niegan la bondad que tiene una definición implícita para teología. Las observaciones de Lonergan, sin embargo, subrayan la necesidad de una conversión intelectual.
