Vigencia de la visita de Juan Pablo II a Colombia

Abstract

Este artículo pretende recordar la visita de Juan Pablo II a Colombia del 1 al 7 de julio de 1986. Durante esos días el Sumo Pontífice se dirigió a diferentes estamentos de la sociedad colombiana: obispos, dirigentes políticos, trabajadores, sacerdotes, religiosas, jóvenes, intelectuales, familiares y víctimas de la tragedia de Armero, entre otras. Ante la realidad de ese momento, el Papa hizo una llamada fuerte a la fidelidad evangélica, que debe testimoniarse en justicia social y construcción de la paz. Hoy la realidad colombiana continúa con los mismos desafíos y en mayor proporción. Por esta razón no sólo es necesario rememorar al Papa carismático y bondadoso, sino recordar y profundizar en sus palabras, que nos invitan a ser testigos y gestores de una sociedad más justa y fraterna.
