Abstract
El propósito de esta exposición es ofrecer algunos de los modelos de desarrollom económico, que se han presentado a lo largo de la historia, para efectuar una confrontación con el que se podría denominar modelo de desarrollo bajo la perspectiva cristiana. Este se toma en su totalidad de la Encíclica Sollictudo Rei Socialis. El Papa Juan Pablo 11 parece indicar en ella elementos muy importantes en un modelo de desarrolo y que no han sido tenidos suficientemente en cuenta en los modelos tradicionales. A la luz de esta confrontación, se mirará el que parece plantear la Encíclica Centesimus Annus.
