Abstract
Este trabajo está enmarcado dentro del apremiante llamado que el Papa Juan Pablo II ha hecho a nuestro continente: "El próximo centenario del descubrimiento y la primera evangelización nos convoca, pues, a una nueva evangelización de América Latina que despliega con más vigor -como en los orígenes" un potencial de santidad, un gran impulso misionero, una vasta creatividad catequética, una manifestación fecunda de colegialidad y de comunión, un combate evangélico de dignificación del hombre" para generar, desde el seno de América Latina, un gran futuro de esperanza." (Discurso a los Obispos del CELAM, en Santo Domingo, el 12 de octubre de 1984, n.12). Al hacer este llamamiento a celebrar este quinto centenario con nueva evangelización, el mismo Papa aclara qué quiere significar con el calificativo "nueva", cuando dice que sea "como en los orígenes" del Cristianismo.
