Job, o la teología desde la dignidad humana

Abstract

Es tradicional afirmar que la rebeldía de Job se debe a la pérdida de sus bienes o a una enfermedad dolorosa. Sin embargo, una relectura del texto desde la perspectiva sociocultural revela que la causa no es otra que el despojo de su honor. Este valor supremo ha sido mellado por una falsa idea de Dios por parte de sus amigos: Dios castigó a Job, y por tanto éste debe ser un pecador y no merece respeto ni compasión. El presente artículo busca subrayar la importancia de tener presente, en todo estudio exegético, las matrices antropológicas y socioculturales. No hacerlo puede conducir a violaciones de derechos humanos básicos en nombre de “la Palabra de Dios”.
