Abstract

El Departamento de Arte presenta en esta edición de UNIVERSITAS HUMANÍSTICA, un cuento de Mario Mendoza, escritor y catedrático.

El relato moderno, a partir de Edgar Allan Poe, ha involucrado un alto nivel de "pathos", producto de una introspección muy aguda en el narrador, que busca atrapar y problematizar al lector. El crítico Jaime Alazraki ha utilizado el concepto de lo "neo-fantástico" para referirse a los trabajos de Julio Cortázar y Jorge Luis Borges, procurando definir esa manera de introducir el misterio, la alogicidad y la irracionaldad en la cotidianidad.

Los relatos de Mario Mendoza, en su gran mayoría están inscritos en esta corriente de la literatura latinoamericana.
