Abstract
Lo primero que hay que tener en cuenta sobre la historia oral es que no tiene un valor igual para todo tipo de investigación histórica. Es particularmente útil para el estudio de aquellos grupos sociales que no tienen documentos, historias o tradiciones escritas. Específicamente, han sido las clases populares quienes dejan pocas cartas, pocas memorias, pocas fuentes publicadas con la excepción de algunos periódicos obreros y sindicales, editados en algunos casos por individuos de otra extracción social. Debido a esta escasez de fuentes escritas, la historia oral, cuando se pueda hacer, es una fuente imprescindible para la historia de las clases populares.
