Abstract
¿Qué es la novela, cuál es su esencia y cómo accede cognoscitivamente a la realidad en una obra especifica? Inspirados en la teoría de la novela de Julia Kristeva, este artículo se propone explorar en una primera aproximación, la pecualiaridad del acceso, realización y sensibilidad hacia el género de la novela en la obra de Carlos Fuentes, "Cambio de Piel". Dos aspectos comprende este estudio: su estructura general y la problemática de los personajes, dentro de las tensiones de la cultura del signo y la nostalgia de la totalidad determinantes en la constitución del ser de la novela.
