Abstract
Este trabajo pretende presentar las posibilidades de la Literatura Comparada para la revaloración del fenómeno literario latinoamericano. Esta disciplina, relativamente nueva en América Latina, tiene puntos de contacto con los estudios interdisciplinarios. Al plantear que las experiencias nacionales, aunque simbolizadas en formas literarias diferentes, pueden ser compartidas por varios países, y especialmente por aquellos que experimentan procesos históricos y sociales similares, convierte a los estudios literarios en una rica fuente para la investigación interdisciplinaria. En particular, el trabajo sugiere ción de la "Literatura Latinoamericana", y presenta un modelo de estudio, la visión urbana en la Literatura Latinoamericana, como ejemplo de las variadas posibilidades de investigación comparatista en este campo.
