Abstract

En la literatura antropológica sobre los indígenas colombianos se dice con frecuencia que nuestros aborígenes están en plano proceso de descomposición ó extinción cultural. Pero se olvida que los grupos humanos pueden desarrollar ciertas estrategias adaptativas para lograr una mejor acomodación a los problemas del cambio cultural.
La presente comunicación trata del grupo de Indígenas Guambíanos del sur oeste de Colombia. Este grupo tiene una cultura muy selectiva porque acepta, después de someter a experimento, algunas de las innovaciones introducidas por la sociedad mayor, al tiempo que mantiene parte de su integridad socio cultural.
